Part 3 - God Is Love & Faithfulness.

What do you think about God and what do you think He thinks about you? Exodus 34:6-7  //   And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, “The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, 7 maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children and their children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation.” Hesed - Steadfast love, unfailing love, covenant loyalty. NIV - Love NKJV - Goodness NASB - Lovingkindness ESV - Steadfast love Emet - Faithfulness, truth, trustworthy Hesed + Emet = hendiadys God’s love is his faithfulness.  God’s faithfulness is his love. Psalm 89:1-2  //  I will sing of the Lord’s great love forever; with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known through all generations. I will declare that your love stands firm forever, that you have established your faithfulness in heaven itself. COVENANT Genesis 12:1-3  //  The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you. I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.” Nehemiah 9:17  //   But you are a forgiving God, gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love.  Nehemiah 9:32-33 “Now therefore, our God, the great God, mighty and awesome, who keeps his covenant of love, do not let all this hardship seem trifling in your eyes—the hardship that has come on us, on our kings and leaders, on our priests and prophets, on our ancestors and all your people, from the days of the kings of Assyria until today. In all that has happened to us, you have remained righteous; you have acted faithfully, while we acted wickedly. HOPE 2 Timothy 2:13  //  if we are faithless, he remains faithful, for he cannot disown himself. God is faithful, even when we are not. Romans 8:28  //  And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
