  • Walk in Love

Ephesians 5:1  //  Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. 2 And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

  • Walk in the light

Ephesians 5:8  //  For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.

  • Walk in Wisdom

Ephesians 5:15  //  Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.

  • Walk in Mutual Submission

Ephesians 5:21  //  Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.

  • Submit: to give over or yield to the power or authority of another; to come underneath.
    • Synonyms: resign, agree, obey, bow, comply.

Ephesians 5:22-24  //  Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord.23 For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.

  • Submission: to trust and come underneath their leadership.

Ephesians 5:25-28  //  Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26 to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, 27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. 28 In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.

  • What does mutual submission look like in a marriage?
  • When I submit, I’m not saying, "You’re better than me." I’m saying, "I trust the God who called you to lead."
  • What does mutual submission look like in communication?
  • What does mutual submission look like in Intimacy?
  • What does it practically look like for a husband to love his wife as Christ loved the Church?
