Learning To Influence
Don’t be a JERK!
1 Peter 2:12 (ESV) // Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation.
Philemon 1:4-6 (NIV) // 4 I always thank my God as I remember you in my prayers, 5 because I hear about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints. 6 I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ.
Matthew 28:18-20 (NIV) // 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
The action is to GO.
Don’t RUN from darkness, SHINE in that darkness!
Why don’t we share our faith?
1. We don’t feel like we know ENOUGH.
Share – Lives – Understanding – Outward
2. We don’t know WHAT TO SAY.
Luke 12:11-12 // “When you are brought before synagogues, rulers and authorities, do not worry about how you will defend yourselves or what you will say, 12 for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what you should say.”
3. We simply don’t CARE.
Matthew 9:35-38 (NIV) // Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. 36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. 37 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. 28 Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”
Followers of Christ view life through the LENS OF ETERNITY.
