Easter at Access – Here Comes Sunday

Pastor Jason Burns

April 5, 2026

Romans 8:11 (NLT)  //  “The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.”

  • The resurrection of Jesus is not just an event to celebrate, it is a power to be experienced.
  • I’d like to hear a message series about…
  • I’d love to see an Access location in…
  • Know God
  • Find Freedom
  • Discover Purpose
  • Make a Difference
  • Give God one year

Mark 16:9-13  //  When Jesus rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had driven seven demons. 10 She went and told those who had been with him and who were mourning and weeping. 11 When they heard that Jesus was alive and that she had seen him, they did not believe it. 12 Afterward Jesus appeared in a different form to two of them while they were walking in the country. 13 These returned and reported it to the rest; but they did not believe them either.

  • It’s too good to be true.
  • Why 3 Days?

1 Peter 2:21 (MSG)  //  This is the kind of life you’ve been invited into, the kind of life Christ lived. He suffered everything that came his way so you would know that it could be done, and also know how to do it, step-by-step.

  • Friday: The Day of Pain

Luke 24:21  //  but we had hoped that he was the one who was going to redeem Israel. And what is more, it is the third day since all this took place.

  • Types of Pain:
    • Physical Pain
    • Emotional Pain
    • Relational Pain

Romans 8:28  //  And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.

  • There is no pain that His purpose cannot redeem.
  • Saturday: The Day of Confusion

Luke 24:30-35  //  When he was at the table with them, he took bread, gave thanks, broke it and began to give it to them. 31 Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him, and he disappeared from their sight. 32 They asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?” 33 They got up and returned at once to Jerusalem. There they found the Eleven and those with them, assembled together 34 and saying, “It is true! The Lord has risen and has appeared to Simon.

  • When we’re confused:
    • We want answers.
    • We begin to doubt.
    • We give up.
    • We feel alone.
  • There is no confusion that His presence cannot calm.
  • Sunday: The day of Resurrection

John 11:25-26  //  “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; 26 and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”

  • There is no death that His power cannot resurrect.
  • “The resurrection means that the worst thing is never the last thing.” — Frederick Buechner

Philippians 3:10-11 (NLT)  //  I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. I want to suffer with him, sharing in his death, 11 so that one way or another I will experience the resurrection from the dead!
