John 16:7  //  But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.

RUACH – a wind, breath, a violent exhalation, blast of breath.

Genesis 1:2  //  Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

PNEUMA – a current of air, blast of breath, a strong breeze.

John 6:63  //  The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life.

Wind is UNSEEN.

John 14:16-17  //  And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever—the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.

Wind is UNPREDICTABLE.

John 3:8  //  Jesus answered...“The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit."

Wind is REFRESHING.

1 Corinthians 2:9-10  //  “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him"-- but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit.

That (bleep) was AWESOME!

Wind is POWERFUL.

Acts 1:8  //  “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you.”

1 Samuel 10:6  //  The Spirit of the Lord will come powerfully upon you, and you will prophesy with them; and you will be changed into a different person.

The Holy Spirit gives us power for: • Witness

• Holiness

• Living

Baptism: To be IMMERSED in

Baptized into the Body of Christ.

1 Corinthians 12:13  //  For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body...

Galatians 3:26-27  //  So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, 27 for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.

Water baptism.

Acts 2:41  //  Those who accepted his message were baptized...

Baptism is a PUBLIC declaration of a PERSONAL decision.

Matthew 10:32-33  //  Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven.

Next Baptism: September 8

Baptism in the Holy Spirit.

Acts 8:14-17  //  When the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had accepted the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them. When they arrived, they prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit, because the Holy Spirit had not yet come upon any of them; they had simply been baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus. Then Peter and John placed their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.
