All That Matters – Between 12 and 15

1 Corinthians 13:12-13 // For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. 13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

1 Corinthians 13:12-13 MSG // 12 We don’t yet see things clearly. We’re squinting in a fog, peering through a mist. But it won’t be long before the weather clears and the sun shines bright! We’ll see it all then, see it all as clearly as God sees us, knowing him directly just as he knows us! 13 But for right now, until that completeness, we have three things to do to lead us toward that consummation: Trust steadily in God, hope unswervingly, love extravagantly. And the best of the three is love.

  • You have no idea what God may produce through a single seed planted in faith.

Hebrews 11:1 // Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.

  • Faith is full confidence that God is who he says he is and will do what he said he will do.
Faith is…
  • Believing when I don’t see.
  • Obeying when I don’t understand.
  • Worshipping when I don’t feel like it.
  • Trusting when I don’t get it.

Genesis 15:1-2 NLT // Some time later, the LORD spoke to Abram in a vision and said to him, “Do not be afraid, Abram, for I will protect you, and your reward will be great.” 2 But Abram replied, “O Sovereign LORD, what good are all your blessings when I don’t even have a son?”

  • We think ADDITION. God thinks MULTIPLICATION.

Genesis 15:5 NLT // Then the LORD took Abram outside and said to him, “Look up into the sky and count the stars if you can. That’s how many descendants you will have!”

Galatians 3:29 // If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed…

Hebrews 11:6 // And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

  • Seeing isn’t believing.
  • Believing is seeing.
