- Why should we live unashamed?
1. I am unashamed because the Gospel is from God.
Romans 1:1-2 // Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle and set apart for the gospel of God— 2 the gospel he promised beforehand through his prophets in the Holy Scriptures
1 Peter 1:20 (NLT) // God chose him as your ransom long before the world began, but now in these last days he has been revealed for your sake.
2. I am unashamed because the Gospel is about Jesus.
Romans 1:3-4 // regarding his Son, who as to his earthly life was a descendant of David, 4 and who through the Spirit of holiness was appointed the Son of God in power by his resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord.
3. I am unashamed because the Gospel leads to obedience
Romans 1:5 // Through him we received grace and apostleship to call all the Gentiles to the obedience that comes from faith for his name’s sake.
- Genuine faith is marked by a desire to please God.
Matthew 5:16 // In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
4. I am unashamed because the Gospel is for Everyone
Romans 1:5 (ESV) // through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith for the sake of his name among all the nations
- The gospel is good news because it is the only message that can transform any person in any location with any situation.
Romans 1:14-15 // I am obligated both to Greeks and non-Greeks, both to the wise and the foolish. That is why I am so eager to preach the gospel also to you who are in Rome.
5. I am unashamed because the Gospel is powerful.
