Psalm 127:1-5  //  Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain. 2 In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat—for he grants sleep to those he loves. 3 Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him. 4 Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth. 5 Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them.

Matthew 3:17  //  And a voice from heaven said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased."

1. IDENTITY - You belong

Deuteronomy 6:6-7 // Moses told the people of Israel, “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.”

Proverbs 22:6  //  Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.

2. AFFECTION - I love you

Mark 10:13-16  //  People were bringing little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples rebuked them. 14 When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 15 Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” 16 And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them.

3. AFFIRMATION - You have what it takes

Proverbs 18:21  //  The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.
