  • For Not From

1 Timothy 6:17-19  //  Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. 18 Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. 19 In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.

  • Rich = $150,000 $75,000 $5,000,000
  • Nobody is rich, but everybody knows somebody who is.

Proverbs 11:25  //  A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.

  • Prosperity Theology
  • Prosper: A divine push forward

Proverbs 11:25  //  A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.

3 John 1:2 NKJV  //  Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.

  • Why does God care about my money?

Luke 12:34  //  For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

  • Your heart follows your money.
  • “If I just had more…“
  • < $25,000 - 7.7% $25,000 and $50,000 - 4.6%. $50,000 and $75,000 - 3.5% $75,000 and $100,000 - 3% > $100,000 - 2.6%
  • God doesn’t want us guilty, He wants us responsible.
  • Tithe
4 LEVELS OF GENEROSITY:
  • Giving
  • Tithing
  • Offerings
  • Extravagant Generosity
  • Why does God really care?

Malachi 3:6-12  //  “I the Lord do not change. So you, the descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed. 7 Ever since the time of your ancestors you have turned away from my decrees and have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you,” says the Lord Almighty. “But you ask, ‘How are we to return?’ 8 “Will a mere mortal rob God? Yet you rob me. “But you ask, ‘How are we robbing you?’ “In tithes and offerings. 9 You are under a curse—your whole nation—because you are robbing me. 10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. 11 I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not drop their fruit before it is ripe,” says the Lord Almighty. 12 “Then all the nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land,” says the Lord Almighty.

  • Principle 1: It has to be blessed before it can multiply.

Luke 9:16-17  //  Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke them. Then he gave them to the disciples to distribute to the people. 17 They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over.

Matthew 14:21  //  The number of those who ate was about five thousand men, besides women and children.

  • Principle 2: It has to be given away before it can multiply.
